Hiking with the whole family

With over 295 km of marked hiking paths and alpine trails in Rauris valley as well as 70 km in Taxenbach, the region is one of the biggest and most diverse hiking areas in Hohe Tauern National Park.

Do not forget to visit the `Raurise Virgin Forest´, it is am must for everybody!

 

Rauris valley is also called the valley of springs, there are more than 300 natural springs and many stunning waterfalls. 

 

Lush green alpine meadows at the valley head with mighty 3,000ers, Europe´s highest permanent weather station on the Hoher Sonnblick. Plenty of mountain huts and inns giving visitors a warm welcome. 

 

In the `Krumltal´ the `kings os air´inscribe broad circles upon the skies. With a little bit of luck, golden eagles, griffon vultures and bearded vultures can be observed in the free flight. There are limitless oportunities in Rauris, hiking in Rauris means active recreation and unforgetable experiences in the heart of the Hohe Tauern National Park.
